Dr E C Chitra

Dr. E C Chitra is a distinguished figure in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a rich history of service and leadership. Dr. Chitra's career started in 1982 at the Govt. HQ Hospital in Vellore, later transferring to GH Hosur in 1984. With over 20 years in Tamil Nadu Medical services, she retired as a civil surgeon specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2002, garnering recognition for her exceptional contributions in family planning, lap sterilization camps, and obstetric care.  Since then, she has been the Executive Director & Chief Consultant of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at SBS Hospital Pvt Ltd, Hosur. Dr. Chitra's leadership extends beyond clinical practice, serving as the Founder President of the Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society of Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts for nine years and Chairing the Women Doctor’s wing of IMA in Hosur from 2022 to 2023. Her enduring dedication and leadership continue to inspire and impact the healthcare community.
